They shall not marry a widow or a divorced woman, but only virgins of the offspring of the house of Israel, or a widow who is the widow of a priest.

Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.

Ein Priester darf keine geschiedene Frau heiraten. Er soll eine Israelitin zur Frau nehmen, die noch nie mit einem Mann geschlafen hat. Eine Witwe darf er nur heiraten, wenn ihr früherer Mann auch ein Priester war.

Sie dürfen keine Witwe und keine verstoßene Frau heiraten, sondern nur Jungfrauen aus der Nachkommenschaft des Hauses Israel. Eine Witwe aber, die mit einem Priester verheiratet war, dürfen sie zur Frau nehmen.
