Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said thus to him: “Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon; bring me in before the king, and I will show the king the interpretation.”

Da ging Daniel hinein zu Arioch, der vom König Befehl hatte, die Weisen zu Babel umzubringen, und sprach zu ihm also: Du sollst die Weisen zu Babel nicht umbringen, sondern führe mich hinein zum König, ich will dem König die Deutung sagen.

Nun ging Daniel zu Arjoch, der vom König beauftragt worden war, die babylonischen Gelehrten hinzurichten. Daniel bat ihn: »Lass die königlichen Berater nicht umbringen! Führ mich zu Nebukadnezar, denn ich kann ihm sagen, was er geträumt hat und was es bedeutet.«

Darauf ging Daniel zu Arjoch, dem der König aufgetragen hatte, die Weisen Babels umzubringen; er trat ein und sagte zu ihm: Bring die Weisen Babels nicht um! Führe mich vor den König! Ich werde dem König die Deutung seines Traumes geben.
