David erwiderte Michal: Vor dem HERRN, der mich statt deines Vaters und seines ganzen Hauses erwählt hat, um mich zum Fürsten über das Volk des HERRN, über Israel, zu bestellen, vor dem HERRN habe ich getanzt;

David aber sprach zu Michal: Ich will vor dem HERRN spielen, der mich erwählt hat vor deinem Vater und vor allem seinem Hause, daß er mir befohlen hat, ein Fürst zu sein über das Volk des HERRN, über Israel,

David erwiderte: »Ich habe dem HERRN zu Ehren getanzt. Er hat deinem Vater und seinen Nachkommen die Herrschaft genommen und sie mir anvertraut. Mich hat er zum König über sein Volk Israel eingesetzt, und ihm zu Ehren will ich auch künftig tanzen.

And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
