Da nahm Asa alles Silber und Gold, das in den Schatzkammern des Tempels noch vorhanden war, dazu alle Schätze des königlichen Palastes, und ließ sie durch seine Abgesandten zu Ben-Hadad bringen, dem Sohn Tabrimmons und Enkel Hesjons, dem König von Aram, der in Damaskus seinen Sitz hatte. Dabei ließ er ihm sagen:

Da nahm Asa alles Silber und Gold, das übrig war im Schatz des Hauses des HERRN und im Schatz des Hauses des Königs, und gab’s in seiner Knechte Hände und sandte sie zu Benhadad, dem Sohn Tabrimmons, des Sohnes Hesjons, dem König von Syrien, der zu Damaskus wohnte, und ließ ihm sagen:

Da schickte König Asa eine Gesandtschaft nach Damaskus zu König Ben-Hadad von Syrien, dem Sohn von Tabrimmon und Enkel von Hesjon. Asa gab den Gesandten alles Silber und Gold mit, das vom Tempelschatz noch übrig war, dazu Geschenke aus der königlichen Schatzkammer. Sie sollten Ben-Hadad Folgendes ausrichten:
