Es war noch das Wenigste, dass er an den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, festhielt. Er nahm Isebel, die Tochter Etbaals, des Königs der Sidonier, zur Frau, ging hin, diente dem Baal und warf sich vor ihm nieder.

Und es war ihm ein Geringes, daß er wandelte in der Sünde Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, und nahm dazu Isebel, die Tochter Ethbaals, des Königs zu Sidon, zum Weibe und ging hin und diente Baal und betete ihn an

Nicht genug, dass er wie Jerobeam, dem Sohn von Nebat, am Götzendienst festhielt; er ging noch weiter und heiratete Isebel, die Tochter König Etbaals von Sidon. Er verehrte ihren Götzen Baal und betete ihn an.
