Benaja kam in das Zelt des HERRN und rief Joab zu: Der König befiehlt dir herauszukommen. Doch Joab antwortete: Nein, hier will ich sterben. Benaja berichtete dem König: Das hat Joab gesagt, so hat er mir geantwortet.

Und da Benaja zur Hütte des HERRN kam, sprach er zu ihm: So sagt der König: Gehe heraus! Er sprach: Nein, hier will ich sterben. Und Benaja sagte solches dem König wieder und sprach: So hat Joab geredet, und so hat er mir geantwortet.

Benaja ging ins Heiligtum und sagte zu Joab: »Der König befiehlt: Du sollst sofort herauskommen!« Doch Joab erwiderte: »Nein, ich komme nicht! Wenn schon, dann will ich hier sterben.« Benaja kehrte um und teilte dem König Joabs Antwort mit.

And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.
