Er folgte den Wegen der Könige von Israel, wie es das Haus Ahab getan hatte; denn er hatte eine Tochter Ahabs zur Frau und er tat, was böse war in den Augen des HERRN.

und wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige Israels, wie das Haus Ahab tat; denn Ahabs Tochter war sein Weib. Und er tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel;

Er war mit einer Tochter von Ahab verheiratet, und so folgte er in allem dem schlechten Vorbild seines Schwiegervaters. Genau wie die Könige von Israel tat auch er, was dem HERRN missfiel.
