Hierauf sagte Jeremia zu Zidkija: So spricht der HERR, der Gott der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Wenn du wirklich hinausgehst zu den Heerführern des Königs von Babel, dann ist dein Leben gerettet, diese Stadt wird nicht im Feuer verbrannt und du bleibst am Leben, du und dein Haus.

Und Jeremia sprach zu Zedekia: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Wirst du hinausgehen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel, so sollst du leben bleiben, und diese Stadt soll nicht verbrannt werden, sondern du und dein Haus sollen am Leben bleiben;

Jeremia entgegnete: »So spricht der HERR, der allmächtige Gott, der Gott Israels: Wenn du dich den Heerführern des babylonischen Königs ergibst, bleibst du mit deiner ganzen Familie am Leben und verhinderst, dass die Stadt niedergebrannt wird.
