Ich will doch lieber zu den Großen gehen und zu ihnen reden; denn sie kennen den Weg des HERRN, das Recht ihres Gottes. Doch sie haben gemeinsam das Joch zerbrochen, die Stricke zerrissen.

Ich will zu den Gewaltigen gehen und mit ihnen reden; die werden um des HERRN Weg und ihres Gottes Recht wissen. Aber sie allesamt hatten das Joch zerbrochen und die Seile zerrissen.

Ich will mich an die führenden Männer dieses Volkes wenden und mit ihnen reden. Sie kennen ja den Willen Gottes und wissen, was er im Gesetz von ihnen verlangt.« Doch gerade sie wollen von Gott nichts mehr wissen. Seine Gebote sind für sie wie ein schweres Joch, das sie abgeworfen haben.
