Doch die Hausgötzen redeten Falsches; die Wahrsager schauten Lüge, sie redeten von nichtigen Träumen, spendeten leeren Trost. Darum haben sie wegziehen müssen wie Schafe, sie leiden, denn kein Hirte ist da.
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
Gegen die Hirten ist mein Zorn entbrannt, die Leithammel suche ich heim. Ja, der HERR der Heerscharen hat heimgesucht seine Herde, das Haus Juda, und wird es zu seinem Prachthengst im Kampf machen.

Sie werden wie Helden sein, die im Kampf den Feind in den Straßenschmutz treten. Sie werden kämpfen, denn der HERR ist mit ihnen. Dann werden alle zuschanden, die auf Pferden reiten.
And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
Das Haus Juda will ich stark machen und das Haus Josef retten. Ich werde sie zurückführen, denn ich habe Erbarmen mit ihnen. Sie werden sein, als ob ich sie nicht verstoßen hätte, denn ich bin der HERR, ihr Gott, und werde sie erhören.
And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
Die von Efraim werden wie ein Held sein. Ihr Herz wird sich freuen wie beim Wein. Ihre Kinder werden es sehen und sich freuen und ihr Herz soll jubeln über den HERRN.
And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.
Ich werde pfeifen und sie zusammenholen, denn ich habe sie losgekauft. Sie werden so zahlreich sein, wie sie zahlreich waren.
I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
Säe ich sie auch unter die Völker aus, werden sie doch in der Ferne an mich denken. Sie werden mit ihren Kindern am Leben bleiben und heimkehren.
And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
Ja, ich werde sie zurückführen aus Ägypten und aus Assur werde ich sie sammeln. Ins Land Gilead und zum Libanon will ich sie bringen, doch es wird für sie nicht ausreichen.
I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
Wenn sie in Bedrängnis durch das Meer ziehen, wird er die Wellen im Meer schlagen und die Tiefen des Nils werden austrocknen. Dann wird der Stolz Assurs gestürzt und das Zepter Ägyptens wird beseitigt.
And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
