Wir zogen also weg aus dem Gebiet in der Nähe der Söhne Esaus, unserer Stammverwandten, die in Seïr wohnen, weg vom Weg durch die Araba, von Elat und Ezjon-Geber. Wir wendeten uns und zogen den Weg zur Wüste Moab entlang.

Da wir nun von unsern Brüdern, den Kindern Esau, weitergezogen waren, die auf dem Gebirge Seir wohnten, auf dem Wege des Gefildes von Elath und Ezeon–Geber, wandten wir uns und gingen durch den Weg der Wüste der Moabiter.

Wir verließen dann die Straße, die von Elat und Ezjon-Geber durch die Ebene nach Norden führt, und zogen durch das Gebirge Seïr, wo unser Brudervolk Edom wohnt, die Nachkommen Esaus. Dann folgten wir der Wüstenstraße in Richtung Moab.
