Der HERR versetzte sie beim Anblick der Israeliten in Verwirrung, sodass er ihnen bei Gibeon eine schwere Niederlage beibrachte. Er verfolgte sie in Richtung auf die Steige von Bet-Horon und schlug sie bis nach Aseka und Makkeda.

Aber der HERR schreckte sie vor Israel, daß sie eine große Schlacht schlugen zu Gibeon und jagten ihnen nach den Weg hinan zu Beth–Horon und schlugen sie bis gen Aseka und Makkeda.

Der HERR ließ unter den Amoritern heillose Verwirrung ausbrechen, und so konnten die Israeliten ihnen bei Gibeon eine schwere Niederlage zufügen. Sie verfolgten die zurückweichenden Truppen entlang dem Weg, der zum Pass von Bet-Horon hinaufführt, und weiter bis Aseka und Makkeda.
