Sie hat gesagt: Ich möchte gern Ähren lesen und bei den Garben hinter den Schnittern her sammeln. So kam sie und hielt aus vom Morgen bis jetzt und gönnte sich kaum Ruhe.

Denn sie sprach: Laßt mich doch auflesen und sammeln unter den Garben, den Schnittern nach; und ist also gekommen und dagestanden vom Morgen an bis her und bleibt wenig daheim.

»Sie hat mich gefragt, ob sie dort, wo deine Männer schon waren, die liegen gebliebenen Ähren auflesen darf. Seit dem frühen Morgen ist sie bereits da und hat sich noch kaum in den Schatten gesetzt.«
