Als die Einwohner von Aschdod aber am nächsten Morgen aufstanden, war Dagon vornüber gefallen und lag vor der Lade des HERRN mit dem Gesicht auf dem Boden. Sie nahmen Dagon und stellten ihn wieder an seinen Platz.

Und da die von Asdod des andern Morgens früh aufstanden, fanden sie Dagon auf seinem Antlitz liegen auf der Erde vor der Lade des HERRN. Aber sie nahmen den Dagon und setzten ihn wieder an seinen Ort.

Als die Einwohner von Aschdod am nächsten Morgen in den Tempel kamen, lag das Standbild Dagons mit dem Gesicht nach unten vor der Bundeslade des HERRN am Boden. Sie stellten es wieder zurück auf seinen Platz.
