Die Ammoniter stellten sich vor den Toren ihrer Hauptstadt Rabba zur Schlacht auf, während die verbündeten Syrer aus Zoba, Rehob, Tob und Maacha in einiger Entfernung auf offenem Feld Stellung bezogen.

Und die Kinder Ammon zogen aus und rüsteten sich zum Streit vor dem Eingang des Tors. Die Syrer aber von Zoba, von Rehob, von Is–Tob und von Maacha waren allein im Felde.

Die Ammoniter rückten aus und stellten sich vor dem Stadttor zum Kampf auf, während die Aramäer von Zoba und Rehob und die Leute von Tob und Maacha jeweils für sich draußen auf dem freien Feld standen.
