Die Syrer hielten dies für ein gutes Zeichen. Schnell legten sie Ahab auf seine Antwort fest: »Wir nehmen dich beim Wort: Ben-Hadad ist dein Bruder!« »Ja«, bestätigte Ahab und befahl ihnen: »Geht jetzt und holt ihn hierher!« Da kam auch Ben-Hadad heraus, und Ahab ließ ihn zu sich auf den Wagen steigen.

Und die Männer nahmen eilend das Wort von ihm und deuteten’s für sich und sprachen: Ja, dein Bruder Benhadad. Er sprach: Kommt und bringt ihn! Da ging Benhadad zu ihm heraus. Und er ließ ihn auf dem Wagen sitzen.

Die Männer nahmen das Wort als gutes Zeichen, gingen sogleich darauf ein und sagten: Ben-Hadad ist dein Bruder. Dann befahl der König von Israel: Geht, bringt ihn zu mir! Als Ben-Hadad kam, nahm er ihn zu sich auf seinen Wagen.

Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Benhadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
