Der Wächter auf dem Turm von Jesreel sah Jehus Truppe auf die Stadt zukommen und meldete es dem König. Joram befahl: »Schick ihnen einen Reiter entgegen! Er soll sie fragen, ob sie in friedlicher Absicht kommen.«

Der Wächter aber, der auf dem Turm zu Jesreel stand, sah den Haufen Jehus kommen und sprach: Ich sehe einen Haufen. Da sprach Joram: Nimm einen Reiter und sende ihnen entgegen und sprich: Ist’s Friede?

Der Wächter, der in Jesreel auf dem Turm stand, sah die Schar Jehus herankommen und meldete: Ich sehe eine Schar. Da befahl Joram: Hol einen Reiter und schick ihn der Schar entgegen! Er soll fragen, ob er in friedlicher Absicht kommt.
