Da bereute Hiskia seinen Stolz, und gemeinsam mit den Einwohnern von Jerusalem bekannte er in aller Demut seine Schuld. Darum traf die Strafe des HERRN noch nicht zu Hiskias Lebzeiten ein.

Aber Hiskia demütigte sich, daß sein Herz sich überhoben hatte, samt denen zu Jerusalem; darum kam der Zorn des HERRN nicht über sie, solange Hiskia lebte.

Nun aber demütigte sich Hiskija mit den Einwohnern Jerusalems in seinem Stolz und so kam der Zorn des HERRN nicht schon in den Tagen Hiskijas über sie.
