Der Stamm Benjamin zählte 45.600 Mann. Er bestand aus den Sippen der Belaiter, Aschbeliter, Ahiramiter, Schufamiter, Hufamiter, Arditer und Naamaniter. Bela, Aschbel, Ahiram, Schufam und Hufam waren Söhne Benjamins gewesen, Ard und Naaman Söhne Belas.

Die Kinder Benjamins in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Bela, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Belaiter; Asbel, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Asbeliter; Ahiram, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Ahiramiter;
