Sorgt nun im Auftrag des Hohen Rates dafür, dass der Kommandant ihn noch einmal zum Verhör bringen lässt. Sagt, ihr wolltet die Angelegenheit genauer untersuchen. Wir halten uns dann bereit und bringen ihn um, noch bevor er bei euch ankommt.«

So tut nun kund dem Oberhauptmann und dem Rat, daß er ihn morgen zu euch führe, als wolltet ihr ihn besser verhören; wir aber sind bereit, ihn zu töten, ehe denn er vor euch kommt!

Geht also jetzt zusammen mit dem Hohen Rat zum Obersten und bittet ihn, Paulus zu euch herunterzuführen, da ihr den Fall noch genauer untersuchen wollt; wir aber halten uns bereit, um ihn, noch bevor er hierherkommt, umzubringen.
