Und David sandte hin und ließ nach dem Weibe fragen, und man sagte: Ist das nicht Bath–Seba, die Tochter Eliams, das Weib des Urias, des Hethiters?

David wollte unbedingt wissen, wer sie war, und schickte einen Diener los, der es herausfinden sollte. Man berichtete ihm: »Die Frau heißt Batseba. Sie ist eine Tochter von Eliam und verheiratet mit Uria, einem Hetiter.«

David schickte jemand hin, erkundigte sich nach ihr und sagte: Ist das nicht Batseba, die Tochter Ammiëls, die Frau des Hetiters Urija?
