Und bis auf diesen Tag tun sie nach der alten Weise, daß sie weder den HERRN fürchten noch ihre Sitten und Rechte tun nach dem Gesetz und Gebot, das der HERR geboten hat den Kindern Jakobs, welchem er den Namen Israel gab.

Und so ist es bis heute geblieben: Die Bewohner Samariens leben nach ihren alten Bräuchen, anstatt dem HERRN allein zu dienen. Sie halten sich nicht an seine Weisungen und Gebote, sie beachten das Gesetz nicht, das der HERR den Nachkommen von Jakob, den Israeliten, gegeben hat. Jakob hatte vom HERRN den Namen Israel bekommen. Mit seinen Nachkommen,

Bis zum heutigen Tag handeln sie nach ihren früheren Bräuchen. Sie fürchten den HERRN nicht und halten sich nicht an die Satzungen und Rechtsentscheide, an die Weisung und das Gebot, auf die der HERR die Nachkommen Jakobs, dem er den Namen Israel gegeben hatte, verpflichtet hat.
