Sofort plante Jehu, König Joram zu stürzen. Joram hatte mit seinem ganzen Heer Ramot in Gilead gegen König Hasaël von Syrien verteidigt.

So verschwor sich Jehu, der Sohn Joschafats, des Sohnes Nimschis, gegen Joram. — Joram hatte mit ganz Israel vor Ramot-Gilead im Abwehrkampf gegen Hasaël, den König von Aram, gestanden.
