Da bestellten die Leviten Heman, den Sohn Joels, und aus seinen Brüdern Asaph, den Sohn Berechjas, und aus den Kindern Meraris, ihren Brüdern, Ethan, den Sohn Kusajas,

Folgende Männer wurden für diese Aufgabe bestimmt: Heman, der Sohn von Joel, und aus derselben Sippe Asaf, der Sohn von Berechja, weiter Etan, der Sohn von Kuschaja, ein Nachkomme von Merari.

Sie stellten daher die Leviten Heman, den Sohn Joëls, und seinen Stammesbruder Asaf, den Sohn Berechjas, auf, ferner von den Nachkommen Meraris ihren Stammesbruder Etan, den Sohn Kuschajas.
