Da standen die Kinder Ammon und Moab wider die vom Gebirge Seir, sie zu verbannen und zu vertilgen. Und da sie die vom Gebirge Seir hatten alle aufgerieben, half einer dem andern zum Verderben.

Da verbündeten sich die Ammoniter und die Moabiter gegen die Edomiter, die auf dem Gebirge Seïr wohnten, und vernichteten sie. Dann gerieten sie selbst aneinander und brachten sich gegenseitig um.

Darauf stellten sich die Ammoniter und Moabiter gegen die Bewohner des Berglands Seïr, vollzogen an ihnen den Bann und vernichteten sie. Nachdem sie die Bewohner Seïrs vollends aufgerieben hatten, gerieten sie selbst gegeneinander zu ihrem eigenen Verderben.
