Hiskia beredet euch, daß er euch gebe in den Tod durch Hunger und Durst, und spricht: Der HERR, unser Gott, wird uns erretten von der Hand des Königs von Assyrien.

Lasst euch von Hiskia nichts vormachen! Er führt euch mit seinen Versprechungen geradewegs in den Tod. Er redet euch ein: ›Der HERR, unser Gott, wird uns vor den Assyrern retten.‹ Er lügt! Verhungern und verdursten lassen wird euch euer König!

Hiskija führt euch nur irre, um euch durch Hunger und Durst umkommen zu lassen, wenn er sagt: Der HERR, unser Gott, wird uns aus der Hand des Königs von Assur retten.
