Und verachtete es, daß er an Mardochai allein sollte die Hand legen, denn sie hatten ihm das Volk Mardochais angesagt; sondern er trachtete, das Volk Mardochais, alle Juden, so im ganzen Königreich des Ahasveros waren, zu vertilgen.

Er wollte sich aber nicht an Mordechai allein rächen, denn er hatte gehört, dass er Jude war. So schmiedete er einen Plan, um alle Juden im persischen Reich zu vernichten.

Aber es schien ihm nicht genug, nur Mordechai zu beseitigen. Da man ihm gesagt hatte, welchem Volk Mordechai angehörte, wollte Haman alle Juden im Reich des Artaxerxes vernichten — das ganze Volk Mordechais.

And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
