Dies ist das Wort, das vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia, da Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, samt allem seinem Heer und allen Königreichen auf Erden, so unter seiner Gewalt waren, und allen Völkern stritt wider Jerusalem und alle ihre Städte, und sprach:

König Nebukadnezar von Babylonien rückte mit einem gewaltigen Heer gegen Jerusalem und die umliegenden Städte vor. Seine Truppen wurden von all den Völkern verstärkt, die er sich bereits unterworfen hatte. In dieser Zeit empfing Jeremia eine Botschaft vom HERRN:

Das Wort, das vom HERRN an Jeremia erging, als Nebukadnezzar, der König von Babel, und sein ganzes Heer, alle Königreiche seines Herrschaftsgebietes und alle Völkerschaften gegen Jerusalem und alle seine Städte Krieg führten:
