Und Gedalja, der Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, tat ihnen und ihren Männern einen Eid und sprach: Fürchtet euch nicht, daß ihr den Chaldäern untertan sein sollt; bleibt im Lande und seid dem König zu Babel untertan, so wird’s euch wohl gehen.

Gedalja versprach ihnen: »Ihr braucht vor den Babyloniern keine Angst zu haben! Bleibt in Juda und unterwerft euch dem babylonischen König! Dann geht es euch gut. Das schwöre ich euch!

Gedalja, der Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Schafans, schwor ihnen und ihren Männern: Fürchtet euch nicht davor, den Chaldäern untertan zu sein! Bleibt im Land und dient dem König von Babel; dann wird es euch gut gehen!
