Und das Haus Jakob soll ein Feuer werden und das Haus Joseph eine Flamme, aber das Haus Esau Stroh; das werden sie anzünden und verzehren, daß dem Hause Esau nichts übrigbleibe; denn der HERR hat’s geredet.

Wie loderndes Feuer Stroh verzehrt, so werden die Judäer und Israeliten die Edomiter vernichten. Keiner von Esaus Nachkommen wird mit dem Leben davonkommen. So habe ich, der HERR, es beschlossen!

Und das Haus Jakob wird zu Feuer und das Haus Josef zur Flamme und das Haus Esau zu Stroh, das vom Brand erfasst und verzehrt wird. Und vom Haus Esau wird keiner entkommen. Denn der HERR hat gesprochen.
