Er aber redete noch weiter: Ja, wenn ich mit dir auch sterben müßte, wollte ich dich nicht verleugnen. Desgleichen sagten sie alle.

»Ausgeschlossen!«, rief Petrus. »Auch wenn es bedeutet, dass ich mit dir sterben muss, werde ich das niemals tun!« Alle anderen Jünger beteuerten dies ebenfalls.

Petrus aber beteuerte: Und wenn ich mit dir sterben müsste — ich werde dich nie verleugnen. Das Gleiche sagten auch alle anderen.
