Da redete Josua mit dem HERRN des Tages, da der HERR die Amoriter dahingab vor den Kindern Israel, und sprach vor dem gegenwärtigen Israel: «Sonne, stehe still zu Gibeon, und Mond, im Tal Ajalon!

An jenem Tag, als der HERR die Amoriter in die Gewalt der Israeliten gab, hatte Josua laut zum HERRN gebetet. Vor dem ganzen Volk hatte er gerufen: »Sonne, bleib stehen über Gibeon, und Mond über dem Tal Ajalon!«

Damals redete Josua zum HERRN, am Tage, da der HERR die Amoriter den Israeliten preisgab, und sprach vor den Augen Israels: Sonne, bleib stehen über Gibeon und du, Mond, über dem Tal von Ajalon! —

The Sun Stands Still
Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. -
