Und sie stellten das Volk des ganzen Lagers, das gegen Mitternacht vor der Stadt war, also, daß sein letztes reichte bis gegen den Abend von der Stadt. Und Josua ging hin in derselben Nacht mitten in das Tal.

So stand das Hauptheer nördlich von Ai und der Hinterhalt im Westen. Es war immer noch dunkel, als Josua sein Heer schließlich in das Tal hinabführte.

So stellten sie das Volk auf: Das ganze Lager war im Norden der Stadt und seine Nachhut westlich der Stadt. Josua aber ging in jener Nacht mitten in die Ebene.
