Und sie zertraten und zerschlugen die Kinder Israel von dem Jahr an wohl 18 Jahre, nämlich alle Kinder Israel jenseit des Jordans, im Lande der Amoriter, das in Gilead liegt.

Noch im selben Jahr eroberten die Ammoniter das Gebiet der Israeliten in Gilead östlich des Jordan, wo früher die Amoriter gelebt hatten. Achtzehn Jahre lang unterdrückten und verfolgten sie die Israeliten.

Sie zerschlugen und misshandelten die Israeliten in jener Zeit achtzehn Jahre lang, alle Israeliten jenseits des Jordan im Land der Amoriter, in Gilead.
