Und als der Knabe kam an den Ort, dahin Jonathan den Pfeil geschossen hatte, rief ihm Jonathan nach und sprach: Der Pfeil liegt dortwärts vor dir.

Als der Junge dort ankam, wo er den Pfeil zu finden meinte, rief Jonatan: »Lauf nur, der Pfeil muss noch weiter geflogen sein. Los, beeil dich!« Schließlich fand der Diener den Pfeil und brachte ihn seinem Herrn zurück.

Als der Diener an die Stelle kam, wohin Jonatan den Pfeil geschossen hatte, rief Jonatan dem Diener nach: Liegt der Pfeil von dir aus nicht noch weiter draußen?
