Da sprach David: Ihr sollt nicht so tun, meine Brüder, mit dem, was uns der HERR gegeben hat, und hat uns behütet und diese Kriegsleute, die wider uns gekommen waren, in unsere Hände gegeben.

Doch da schritt David ein: »Nein, meine Freunde, so machen wir es nicht! Denn alles hat uns der HERR geschenkt! Er hat uns bewahrt und uns über diese Räuberhorde siegen lassen!

David aber erwiderte: So dürft ihr es mit dem, was der HERR uns gegeben hat, nicht machen, meine Brüder. Er hat uns behütet und die Räuberbande, die uns überfallen hatte, in unsere Hand gegeben.
