Da sie aber des andern Morgens früh aufstanden, fanden sie Dagon abermals auf seinem Antlitz liegen auf der Erde vor der Lade des HERRN, aber sein Haupt und seine beiden Hände abgehauen auf der Schwelle, daß der Rumpf allein dalag.

Doch am nächsten Morgen lag es wieder vor der Bundeslade. Kopf und Hände der Statue lagen abgeschlagen auf der Türschwelle. Nur der Rumpf war unbeschädigt.

Doch als sie am nächsten Morgen in der Frühe wieder aufstanden, da war Dagon wieder vornüber gefallen und lag vor der Lade des HERRN mit dem Gesicht auf dem Boden. Dagons Kopf und seine beiden Hände lagen abgeschlagen auf der Schwelle. Nur der Rumpf war Dagon geblieben.

And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
