Darum daß dein Herz erweicht ist über den Worten, die du gehört hast, und hast dich gedemütigt vor dem HERRN, da du hörtest, was ich geredet habe wider diese Stätte und ihre Einwohner, daß sie sollen eine Verwüstung und ein Fluch sein, und hast deine Kleider zerrissen und hast geweint vor mir, so habe ich’s auch erhört, spricht der HERR.

Doch du hast dir meine Worte zu Herzen genommen und dich meiner Macht gebeugt. Als du gehört hast, welches Urteil ich über diese Stadt und ihre Einwohner verhängt habe — dass ein Fluch sie treffen soll und jeden, der es sieht, das Entsetzen packt —, da hast du betroffen dein Gewand zerrissen und bist in Tränen ausgebrochen. Darum will ich dein Gebet erhören. Das verspreche ich, der HERR.

Du hast dich vor dem HERRN gedemütigt, als du vernahmst, was ich über diesen Ort und seine Bewohner gesprochen habe: dass sie zu einem Bild des Entsetzens und zum Fluch werden sollen. Du hast deine Kleider zerrissen und vor mir geweint. Darum habe ich dich erhört — Spruch des HERRN.
