Jehoiada said to them, “The king’s son shall reign, as the Lord promised concerning the descendants of David.

And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD hath said of the sons of David.

Sie versammelten sich im Tempel, und Jojada sagte zu ihnen: »Seht her, vor euch steht der Sohn unseres früheren Königs. Er soll uns regieren, denn so hat der HERR es für die Nachkommen von David bestimmt.« Die Anwesenden erkannten Joasch als ihren neuen König an und verbündeten sich mit ihm.

Dort schloss die Versammlung im Haus Gottes einen Bund mit dem König. Jojada legte ihnen dar: Seht da den Sohn des Königs! Er soll herrschen, wie der HERR den Nachkommen Davids versprochen hat.
