I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, ‘Turn now everyone from his evil way, amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them; then you will dwell in the land which I have given you and your fathers.’ But you have not inclined your ear, nor obeyed Me.

Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you have not paid attention or listened to me. -

Lauft nicht anderen Göttern nach, dient ihnen nicht! Nur dann lasse ich euch weiter in diesem Land wohnen, das ich euch und euren Vorfahren gegeben habe.‹ Doch ihr habt mir keine Beachtung geschenkt und euch nicht nach meinen Geboten gerichtet.

Und immer wieder sandte ich zu euch alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, mit der Mahnung: Kehrt doch um, jeder von seinem schlechten Weg! Bessert euer Tun und lauft nicht anderen Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen! Dann dürft ihr in dem Land bleiben, das ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe. Ihr aber habt euer Ohr nicht geneigt und nicht auf mich gehört.
