Then he said to his servant, “Go and look out toward the sea.”
The servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah and said, “I didn’t see anything.”
Seven times Elijah told him to go and look.

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

Nach einer Weile befahl er seinem Diener: »Steig auf den höchsten Punkt des Berges und blick über das Meer! Dann sag mir, ob du etwas Besonderes siehst.« Der Diener ging, hielt Ausschau und meldete: »Kein Regen in Sicht!« Doch Elia schickte ihn immer wieder: »Geh, sieh noch einmal nach!«

Dann befahl er seinem Diener: Geh hinauf und schau auf das Meer hinaus! Dieser ging hinauf schaute hinaus und meldete: Es ist nichts zu sehen. Elija befahl: Geh sieben Mal hinauf!
