I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin — a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law.

Ich wurde am achten Tag nach meiner Geburt beschnitten, wie es das Gesetz vorschreibt. Ich stamme aus dem Volk Israel und sogar aus dem Stamm Benjamin. Von Geburt an bin ich Hebräer wie schon alle meine Vorfahren. Außerdem gehörte ich zu den Pharisäern, der Gruppe, die am strengsten darauf achtet, dass Gottes Gesetz eingehalten wird.
