Caleb Requests His Land
A delegation from the tribe of Judah, led by Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, came to Joshua at Gilgal. Caleb said to Joshua, “Remember what the LORD said to Moses, the man of God, about you and me when we were at Kadesh-barnea.

Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea. -

In Gilgal kamen die Männer des Stammes Juda zu Josua. Unter ihnen war auch Kaleb, der Sohn von Jefunne, aus der Sippe Kenas. Er sagte zu Josua: »Du weißt, was der HERR bei Kadesch-Barnea zu Mose, dem Mann Gottes, über mich und dich gesagt hat.

Damals traten die Judäer in Gilgal an Josua heran und Kaleb, der Sohn des Kenasiters Jefunne, sagte zu ihm: Du weißt, was der HERR zu Mose, dem Gottesmann, in Kadesch-Barnea meinet- und deinetwegen gesagt hat.
