But when the judge died, the people returned to their corrupt ways, behaving worse than those who had lived before them. They went after other gods, serving and worshiping them. And they refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.

And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.

Sobald aber der Richter gestorben war, wurden sie rückfällig und trieben es noch schlimmer als ihre Väter, liefen anderen Göttern nach, dienten ihnen und warfen sich vor ihnen nieder. Sie ließen nicht ab von ihrem bösen Treiben und von ihrem störrischen Verhalten.
