Danach gingen Jehu und Jonadab, der Sohn von Rechab, zusammen in den Baalstempel. Jehu sagte zu den Anhängern von Baal: »Schaut noch einmal nach, ob sich wirklich keiner im Tempel aufhält, der den HERRN verehrt. Bei dem Opfer dürfen nur Leute dabei sein, die Baal dienen!«
