Der bronzene Altar, der vor dem HERRN stand, war nämlich zu klein, um das Brandopfer, das Speiseopfer und die Fettstücke der Heilsopfer fassen zu können.

Am ersten Tag des Festes wurde die Mitte des Tempelvorhofs zur Opferstätte geweiht, weil der bronzene Altar viel zu klein war für die vielen Opfer. Denn unzählige Brand- und Speiseopfer wurden dargebracht, und auch das Fett der Tiere, die man für das Opfermahl schlachtete, wurde verbrannt.
