Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.

Dies geschah, weil sie dem HERRN, ihrem Gott, nicht mehr gehorchten. Sie befolgten die Gebote nicht, die Mose ihnen im Auftrag des HERRN gegeben hatte, und brachen so den Bund, den der Herr mit ihnen geschlossen hatte. Sie hörten nicht mehr auf den Herrn und taten nicht, was er von ihnen verlangte.
