So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

Als man sie aber den Männern zum Essen vorsetzte und sie von der Speise kosteten, schrien sie laut und riefen: Der Tod ist im Topf, Mann Gottes. Sie konnten nichts essen.

Das Gemüse wurde an die Männer verteilt. Doch schon nach ein, zwei Bissen konnten sie nichts mehr essen und schrien entsetzt: »Elisa, du Bote Gottes, das Essen ist giftig, wir werden alle sterben!«
