Er stellte die Leviten mit Zimbeln, Harfen und Zithern im Haus des HERRN auf, wie es dem Gebot Davids, des königlichen Sehers Gad und des Propheten Natan entsprach. Dieses Gebot war vom HERRN durch seine Propheten ergangen.

Hiskia forderte die Leviten auf, wieder mit Zimbeln, Harfen und Lauten im Tempel des HERRN zu spielen. So hatten es damals König David, sein Seher Gad sowie der Prophet Nathan auf Befehl des HERRN angeordnet.
