And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. -

The Queen of Sheba Visits Solomon
When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon’s fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. Arriving with a very great caravan — with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones — she came to Solomon and talked with him about all she had on her mind. -

Die Königin von Saba hörte vom Ruf Salomos und kam mit sehr großem Gefolge, mit Kamelen, die Balsam, eine Menge Gold und Edelsteine trugen, nach Jerusalem, um ihn mit Rätselfragen auf die Probe zu stellen. Sie trat bei Salomo ein und redete mit ihm über alles, was sie sich vorgenommen hatte.

Die Königin von Saba hatte schon viel von Salomo gehört. Deshalb beschloss sie, diesen König zu besuchen und sich mit schwierigen Rätseln selbst von seiner Weisheit zu überzeugen. Mit großem Gefolge reiste sie nach Jerusalem. Die Kamele ihrer Karawane waren schwer beladen mit wohlriechenden Ölen, mit Gold und mit kostbaren Edelsteinen.
